The first terminal on tvOS
terminalOS is the first terminal on tvOS. It brings a real Unix command-line workspace to Apple TV, with a Dash shell, Node.js and npm, Python, Git, an SSH client and SSH server, and more than 150 commands.
terminalOS puts a Unix shell on your Apple TV. Run commands on the TV itself, write code, connect over SSH, and turn the biggest screen in the room into your command-line workspace.
Work with Python and pip, Git, Clang, Lua, Node.js and npm, JavaScript, and WebAssembly. Use the built-in shell with optional zsh-inspired plugins, or launch the real Dash shell.
terminalOS includes both an SSH client and SSHD server. Connect from your Mac to run commands on the TV. Type with SeriousRemote, an iPhone or iPad keyboard, or one of the Apple TV keyboards. Your Mac can be the keyboard, and the TV can do the work.
Play videos with player, view images with tiv, or use the tvOS dashboard. Send media over SSH or play a file from a local HTTP server on your TV.
$iHOME gives terminalOS a shared iCloud directory. Add files with FilesDrive on your other Apple devices, then work with them in the terminal on Apple TV.
Install terminalOS on Apple TV running tvOS 17 or later. No telemetry. No tracking. Just a terminal where there was not one before.
Run support to send a concern directly. Include an email address if you want a reply.
terminalOS costs $19.99, once, no subscription, no upsell, no "pro" tier waiting behind it. If it saved you an afternoon, that was the point. If it annoyed you, the inbox is right there.
